The Story Behind One OAK

One OAK Artwear began with a simple moment: Jourdan Christopher learning to sew from his partner Rosalie, practicing on discarded curtains and blankets. What started as skill-building evolved into a shared mission—transforming fashion's relationship with waste.

Today, each piece honors the history woven into repurposed materials while creating something entirely new. Spontaneous yet intentional. Sustainable yet stylish. Based in Providence, Rhode Island, we're building a community that proves fashion can be both beautiful and responsible.

How It Works

Our custom commission process, from first message to finished garment.

Submit Your Commission

Fill out the form with your vision, budget range, and timeline. We'll review it and get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.

Measurement Meeting

We'll meet in person at the studio or via Zoom to take your measurements, discuss materials, and talk through exactly what you have in mind. A fabric tape measure is required for Zoom meetings.

Approve Your Quote

You'll receive a written project summary covering the design, materials, measurements, timeline, and total price. Nothing moves forward until you approve it.

Pay Your Deposit

Once approved, we'll send an invoice for 75% of the total. Production begins as soon as the deposit is received.

Final Payment & Delivery

When your piece is complete, we'll send photos and an invoice for the remaining 25%. Your garment is ready for pickup or shipping once paid in full.
